Chickpeas: no end to price increases in sight

NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Chickpea prices are stable to slightly rising in both India and Canada and market players expect prices to continue climbing in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, there is still disagreement about the quality of the Canadian crop.

Indian market players report that demand for chickpeas is increasing, while arrivals are declining - this has once again led to noticeable price increases of USD 15/mt in a weekly comparison, and experts reckon that there is no end to the price increases in sight for the time being.
