NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Not only in Canada, but also in the USA and Argentina, smaller chickpea acreages are expected this season. This is likely to increase interest in Indian goods, also because availability in the Black Sea region is declining significantly.

Good sales on the domestic market

The Indian chickpea market has again seen a slight decline in prices compared to last week. Market players report that sales on the domestic market have been satisfactory for several weeks and the quality of the available goods is reported as good. For this reason, market experts expect prices to remain at a fairly stable level for the time being. The suppliers prefer to offer their goods in larger quantities, so that buyers sometimes have difficulties buying small quantities. The outlook for the export market is less rosy
