Chickpeas: NAFED stocks up

NEW DELHI. The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) has already purchased 2 million mt of chickpeas in the current season. Most of the goods comes from Madhya Pradesh. In Canada, meanwhile, sowing is in full swing.

The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) has purchased over 2 million mt of chickpeas at the minimum support price in the current season. Market players report that arrivals in the markets are currently slowing down, but prices have improved. The NAFED is not expected to exceed the 2.59 million mt purchased last year.
