Indian market under pressure

The downward trend in the Indian chickpea market continues for the time being. Market players reacted with mixed feelings to the government's recent announcement; the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) announced that the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) will provide 1.5 million mt of chickpeas at a discounted price of USD 10/quintal to assist various states with welfare programmes.
