NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. In India, there were significant price increases over the course of the season, mainly due to the shortage of available goods. The crop was also small in Canada, but buyers are still holding back for the time being.

Chickpea prices in India have once again managed to climb by a moderate USD 5/mt compared to last week. The shortage of goods and the increased demand in the course of the Diwali festival, which has been celebrated since Sunday (12 November), are managing to support prices well.
